Nancy Lopez Plus Collection from Lori's Golf Shoppe

Buying athletic clothes can be a real challenge when you have curves! And buying cute golf clothes in sizes XL, 2xL, or even 3XL can be even harder – especially since I think so many of the golf wear companies have completely forgotten about the recreational golfer who wants to be comfortable and look good on the green. I had been keeping a folder of websites that carry plus size ladies golf apparel and then my computer crashed and I lost the list. I have been recreating it and before I lose it again, I am putting it here in one place for you and me to refer to any time we need something fun and new to wear on the course!

 

Golf Sophisticate carries a large selection of plus size ladies golf shirts, golf shorts, skorts and outwear in sizes 18W, 20W, 22W and XXL and XXXL. Brands include Bette & Court, EP Pro and more.

Lori’s Golf Shoppe carries women’s plus size golf clothes by Nancy Lopez, Nike, Bette & Court, and more. Of all the shops, Lori’s seems to be most suited for the recreational golfer with a large range of styles and sizes (up to 22W and 3XL).

LPGA Pro Shop – not everything in the LPGA Pro Shop is available in extended sizes, but a lot of the tops are available in XL and some are available in XXL like the Dri-Mesh LPGA Polo.

Pinks and Greens has a very stylish selection of women’s plus size golf gear from Sport Haley and EP Pro and they have sizes 18W, 20W and 22W as well as 1X, 2X, 3X and even a few items in 4X.

Junonia.com sells activewear for women sizes 14 and up. Many of their tops are made with wicking material and are perfect for the golf course. They also have a good selection of plus size shorts and skorts that will fit just right!

Zappos and 6pm- One of the things I love so much about Zappos is their free shipping both ways, but the other thing I like so much is that they carry Liz Golf in plus sizes. The selection varies by the week, but it is definitely worth checking out regularly.

Not knowing what the weather will really be like, I figured I would need a lightweight jacket and maybe some capris. I went to our local Dick’s Sporting Goods because I know they carry the Slagenzer ladies golf line – which fits me great, – and they carry a large selection of Adidas Plus size gear. When I walked in and saw the Adidas display all I could say was WOW! The colors in their fall line are GORGEOUS. The pink is shocking and just gorgeous, the green just pops, and the turquoise is divine.

When I saw the shocking pink wind breaker I was in LOVE! Actually the color is called Ultra Beauty and that it is! I also got the matching V-neck top to go with it. Something tells me I will be easily found on the golf course next week!

Known for her drama, controversy and somewhat clouded past, Lori brings a true sense of reality to the show, in my opinion.

Why?

Because if you look at the group shots of the cast, Lori kind of stands out. She looks more like the women I see on our local courses than most of the other players do. She has curves. She plays with the passion and grit that makes the sport real. She doesn’t wear a size 0, yet she can mix it up with the best of them – after all, she has 26 professional tour wins.

As the series plays out, I will be watching Lori and the other women – cheering, checking out their fashions, and hopefully taking a few pointers on technique while I am at it! Big Break Dominican Republic is on the Golf Channel, but you need to check your local listings for when it is on in your area.

For my birthday I got a new Lady Hagen Shortsleeve Performance Solid Polo and the best Slazenger skort to go along with the Adidas golf shoes I picked up on clearance earlier this spring.

Back to the Lady Hagen golf shirt – let’s just say, I love the new cut they have. The Lady Hagen Performance Golf Polo in XL fits the same as my Nike Dri-Fit shirts that are XXL, except the Lady Hagen shirt is a little longer which works well for me since I am long-waisted. The Lady Hagen shirt in XL has plenty of room in the chest, too.
