Whether you are on the golf course, on the tennis court, in yoga class or walking with your pals, the most important aspect of outfitting yourself for fitness is comfort. Yes, there are tops and bottoms “specifically” for certain sports, but there is also a lot of room for personal preference.
This past week on the golf course I saw such a wide range of outfits on ladies of all shapes, levels of fitness and different ages (it was ladies day). While my first choice for golf is a skort and a polo shirt, there were ladies wearing capris, shorts, long sleeve shirts, sleeveless shirts and tee shirts.
Basically, it comes down to what works for you – especially if you are new to a sport/activity. You don’t have to shop at a specialty store just for sport specific items. Many of your favorite brands will carry comfortable and appropriate pieces for you to mix and match.
My favorite stores for activewear I can use for just about any activity I am doing include:
- Junonia Activewear for Women Size 14 & Up
- Torrid.com – Trendy Plus-size Women’s Fashion
- Women’s Apparel at Zappos.com
